Things on Tuesday - 06/30/2009
Hates:
- not being able to find a job that I really like that will pay the bills.
- missing the deadline to sign up for the Substitute Teacher Online Certification Course.
- boredom without being able to sleep.
- state furlough situation. looks like there's nothing we can do about it.
Loves:
- getting praise for the photos I took for my (third) job. I haven't been formally trained to do photography for this company yet, but the owner was in a bind because his fourth photographer wasn't able to make it this Saturday... so I was asked to take photos. I don't know how to work with studio lights, so I took the shots with built-in flash. The next day, the owner's wife called and left me a voicemail; she thanked me and said that my pictures turned out really good for not using any other light source, and that I got good key shots (graduate & family, centerpieces, favors, food tables, guests, etc.).
- taking photo class with two new people. I took these classes with my mom, but now we have Jared and Mandy with us. it's fun to have more people along :)
- not losing my Monday night shift at CBTL. I got a little worried, but it was nothing.
- sleeping in on Saturday morning. I didn't have to be at the photo gig 'til around 3:30-4pm, so I slept in 'til about 10, did some laundry, relaxed, and went to work.
- not having to drive my brother's car anymore. Our truck died (and still needs fixing), and I had been driving my dad's car, then my brother's car. Since my Matrix has the stickers to get onto base, Mike was driving it to work, and I got stuck with my brother's clunker (I was seriously afraid of it dying on me while we were borrowing it). We bought a temporary truck and now I have my car back.
- having an actual weekend on its way. No work on Friday or Saturday. Friday night will be at The Loft, with Bari Bari 13 and Clones of the Queen (I think this is Ara's new band), hopefully with a bunch of friends, too!
