I'm late. I know I'm late. In fact, I'm proud to declare that I've run late every day this week. However, I've been informed by my new employer that time of service is not guaranteed. Therefore and ergo, I'm attempting to run late every day so that I can work on my oversensitive guilt neuroses in relation to punctualilty. I figure that by the time I officially start work on 19 May, I will have overcome it. In fact, given that I completely forgot that "Things on Tuesday" is actually due on, well, Tuesday, I believe I may be well on the way ;-)
I was asked out on a date for the first time in more years than I care to remember. *Cheer!!!!!* However, because I'd already made arrangements for last night, I had to refuse. *Jeer!!!!!* Nonetheless, I was courageous enough to call him today and we negotiated to try and hook up next week. *Cheer!!!!!* I must admit, it was one of the most scary moments of my life. The only way I could do it was to simply look up the number and simply dial it, hoping he would answer. I'm glad he did though - the more I speak to him, the lovelier I think he is.
I started my new job this week. *Cheer!!!!!* However, in order to work without supervision in the field, I have to sit on my backside for seven hours a day being talked at. *Jeer!!!!!* This, apparently, is called "training." Needless to say, I am not a fan.
However, there are advantages to "training," such as a one hour "lunchbreak." *Cheer!!!!!* For the first time in my working life, I was able to go SHOPPING. *Cheer!!!!!* I bought a new pink shirt, with a laced bodice and white trim for $20. *Cheer!!!!!* I also found a lovely white cotton shirt with a mandarin collar, embroidered in red and blue, that begged to be taken home and worn on next week's date. *Cheer!!!!!* However, due to its price tag of $80, I had to leave the poor orphan on its hanger at Colorado. *Jeer!!!!!*
All things considered, I think the "Cheer!!!!" factor outweighs the "Jeer!!!!!" factor, so a good week is being had by all. So endeth the post :-D
